Carb Frustration Part 2

Post by DaveQ »

Thanks to everyone who gave me suggestions in my previous post. To update on the progress, I pulled the carb (again), checked the jet (#65), made sure the float assembly was good, gave it a good cleaning. I also cleaned the inside of the gas tank and sealed it as there was some rust starting to form. I also put on new gas & vacumm lines and an in-line gas filter.
The Spree started up right away but quickly died, after many attempts I got it running again but there was no power.
Finally the light bulb went on in my head and I checked the coil with a volt meter and after a few tests I confirmed that the coil was bad and was giving intermentant spark. THe coil now shows no restitance whatsoever so I know that must be the problem.

Thanks again to everyone that gave suggestions and I followed them all.

Now it is time to start doing the brakes on my Dio

I live outside of Victoria British COlumbia so unless the coil is quite cheap it probably wouldn't be cost effective for me however let me know the price and thanks for the offer
