still carb troubles

so ive been screwing around with this carburetor for about a month now, i cleaned it countless times, bought a new needle valve and its still * all over the place... it will leak until the gas tank is empty. any ideas?

your petcock valve is stuck open. soak in gas for a few days, or buy a new one. i'd bet anything that's what it is.

oh and make sure that the screw to empty all the gas in the carb, on the bottom of the carb, is closed fairly tight, not too tight though.

if it's open a little gas will come out of the overflow tube, an if taken out completely all gas will be drained. so you want to make sure its closed completely to seal off the vacuum inside the carb, and no gas should leak out.
