Running with out the airbox or airfilter will lean the engine out and melt the piston, there by destroying the engine.

i have a performance filter i was told to put on but i put the STOCK FILTER on, plus it wasn't getting hot enough to melt

And how would you know that the combustion chamber didn't get hot enough to melt the piston? Do you have x-ray vision so you can see inside the cylinder?

ok you got me but i touched the engine while it was running(not hot but warm) , also checked the top end and is perfectly fine, it got oil and everything slids new, but what i want to know is if you could tell me what might be happening to the bottom end that could cause my problem that i had already said

You have no clue about what you are talking about. The temperature in the chamber can spike and melt the piston in less than a 10th of a second. So your claim is irrelevant and shows a total lack of knowledge of engines and how they work, especially 2 strokes.

If the top end is fine sounds like one or both of the main bearing are fried. Take off the pulley and rock the crank shaft up and down and see if you have any play in the bearing. Also remove the magneto and stator and do the same thing. If your crank keeps locking up and the top end is fine it is a good place to look. Almost the only place to look. lol

No it does not slip right off. You need a puller.
