Very nice
will u tell me where to get one of those compression tester!!!!!! Are they really accurate I'm tired of my harbor freight being so far off (15 psi or so)... Or better yet got any extras ?
Its a snap on, you get them only through the snap on distributor. Its the same one I use that I paid 125 bucks for from the guy who comes to my friends mechanic shop. I would not buy one on ebay, I looked at the cases they send them in and they are not the same case I have.
125 was a very discounted price but my friend owns a huge shop. Harbor freight tools are junk, pure junk. I know a person who went through 5 HF testers and returned them all.
Still interested in how your squish turned out, Only a few ways to make it good and raising the head isnt one of them lol. 155ish psi is still pretty high if the squish is poor, you lose so much power not setting it proper.

How do you know your Harbor Freight tester is off by 15 PSI?

My friend used the HFs on a running 4 stroke and got 0 psi first one, 50 something next one and never above 60 psi on 3 more. First time with father in laws showed 165 ha. When he called me and said hes getting 50 psi on it I told him return it again, came back and got less. I asked him if he held the throttle open, he said ya, he tried it warm and cold.
There was just no way a 94 lt1 that ran awesome, no leaks, would have that compression on every cylinder. So after wasting countless hours with driving back and forth to HF and taking out spark plugs and wires on a 94 TA(which if anyone has done this it is not like an old F body), a compression tester from the 70s showed him the light.
This is just extremely poor QA. Ive bought other things from HF that are fine, but never a compression tester or anything using a valve.
Not everyone can afford a $125 compression tester or needs one for that matter. *, I had a Mercury Marine test with no hose that was like $35 back in the day but is around $60 today. FYI, I have found if you are getting the varied readings you claimed, that it is almost always a dirty or bad schrader valve and cleaning or replacing it will solve the problem, which by the way, is usually cause by leaving your tester out in a dirty environment.

No bull, my friends dads reader was a mercury marine from the 70s all brass looks like, about 7-8 inches tall and no flexible hose.
All the ones from HF were brand new each time, he went through 5 different brand new tester kits, Just bad luck of the draw sometimes.
