what causes this to happen?

Re: what causes this to happen?
Excessive heat on an air cooled engine looks like. Also known as a blown head gasket lol. Id say too much compression mixed with not enough octane. Is that 2 different head gaskets also?

Your probably right about the compression being too high......165ish 110 octane race fuel.

Re: what causes this to happen?
Got these from Ebay.
Had to make my own holes.
Looks more durable to me.
Perfect fit.

Re: what causes this to happen?
Whats your squish going to be with that much more gasket? Im assuming youre at your max for port timing by raising the cylinder and the gasket is the only way to lower your compression at this point. double the head gasket and squish for certain is going to suffer.
