wont run anymore

well my 86 spree stopped running 2 days ago and i dont know why it was just idling and kinda made a little pop sound and died and now it wont start it seems to have good compression but i do not feel suction at the carb i do feel air coming out of the muffler though when i take the fuel line off the petcock and crank it over only a little dribble of gas comes out even arter cranking for a while (yes it has gas) any suggestions on wwhat could be wrong?

r u sure it has compression? that sounds like what my spree did when it died and i had a blown top end. i just havent any money to get a new piston and all that other crap for the top end. take a second look at the compression.
