Fuel not running to carb

Post by gravano »

2001 Honda Elite 50SR

Really starting to hate this scooter.
Replaced petcock, fuel and vac lines, plug, carbeurator, throttle cable

Fuel is not getting to the carb for some reason. I've checked that the needle is in proper place. Cleaned the carb several time and now have no idea why gas isn't flowing.

Thanks,
Ryan

When you pull vacuum on the vacuum port of the petcock, does fuel come out of the fuel line?

Ok, got the fuel running. Not to figure out this carb issue. Will run on the second kick then stall after a while and not start back up. Hoping it's just a matter of setting the idle and air just right and that it's just very delicate in that regard.

Your idle jet is blocked. Reclean.

Another thing you might want to check is . Right now I have 2- scooters ( 1970 z50 mini-trail & 86 Gyro s) with fuel caps that will not vent . Both would run fine and then just stop like they ran out gas ! Thats because they were . I checked them by opening the fuel valve and letting the gas go back into the can. The flow would get slower and slower then stop . If I removed the cap the flow would start again . The mini-trails cap is made to shut off but I can see no way of fixing the 2. The gyro s cap maybe the same as a Spree ? Any way to get them to vent ?

The caps not venting will kill the engine, but not this fast.
