Gyro s Leaks trans. oil at the shift shaft.

Post by Tenacious T »

Has anyone replaced the shift shaft seal without taking the trans. apart ? Or any tricks to stop the leak ?

By 'shift shaft seal' I am making an assumption. The Gyro trans is a 2 speed automatic and there is no shift linkage.

There is an arm to actuate the parking brake at the bottom left of the engine case. I've not had a leak at the seal, but the arm is held on with a bolt. You may be able to remove the arm, use hooks/picks to pull out the oil seal and replace w/o taking the trans apart.

Yes that's the one Parking Lock shaft . Because I can not find a part number, I hope it will come out in one piece to make it easer to find a replacement .
