do you have a impact wrench?? if not you might be able to lock the rear brake and then spin the nut

Get a can of brake clean and clean every thing in the case and don't use compressed air because the clutch material can contain asbestos. Measure the width of the belt and check it against the spec in the manual. If its an 84 with the original belt just replace it anyway. You can use the original belt or use an ax24 belt for a little better top end. Pull clutch bell off and clean out with brake clean and rough it up in a swirl or cross hatch pattern with emery cloth. And then clean the clutch pads with brake clean and lightly deglaze them with clean sandpaper or emery cloth. Then clean them again and reassemble and see how it goes. To get the clutch bell off I've heard of guys using a strap wrench to hold it. And again its probably time to replace the belt now while you have it apart. If the belt is too narrow you will gain a mph or two just from a new belt and almost 4 mph with the ax24
