Hondafan: i was a little worried when i first started doing this as i had only ever worked on cars
these bikes are nice and easy to figure out, had the whole belt drive out a few times already, no airtools at all
strap wrench is really the way to go. You'll have fun :) dig right in !

The actual size of the belt is 745 mm x 15 mm...I found one on eBay. I Worked on it today. I did the belt change, cleaned the grease out of the variator (there was a ton of grease),changed the rollers ( lots of flat spots on the ones I changed). I already changed to a 90 jet. My Aero is doing 45 mph easy on the flats and faster down hill. Thanks to everyone for the advice you guys are great!

Just about...it's the fastest I remember this scooter going... I really want to thank you for pointing me in the right direction I really appreciate it. Were you able to get a replacement belt for yours at the belt shop?

No luck on the belt yet, I'm just going to order one online I think. Unless the belt place can match one up, I just have to pull the belt and take it over.

interesting regarding the size
where did you get your numbers from ?

I found my numbers off a honda belt chart
converted them to mm and got 726

I wonder if it is inside or outside measure
guess we'll see how mine works when it gets here :)

I got the numbers from the Internet on a few belt charts... They were a few charts that stated the Aero 80's numbers and they all were the same. I also saw it hand written on a honda repair manual that I downloaded. The manual also states that a belt change is needed when the belt is at 13mm. I am interested as well to hear if the belt you purchased will work. Let us know. Thanks.

I found a different chart (still searching for it again)
that gave me the numbers in inches
converted i got 726x16x30
the chart you found (or similar) has
729 x 17.7 741 688 738

I wonder if the outside measure of 741
is the measure close to your 745 ?

if i can find that other chart, i'll post it

I will also look for the chart I saw and do the same. It is good info to get out there for Aero owners.

Here is another link I found that lists the belt size as 745mm x 15mm. I saw a few others as well. That seems to be the size I am seeing listed. This goes with the size that was written in the repair manual I downloaded.

the chart i found was from Wikispreedia

http://hondaspree.net/wiki/index.php5?t ... _Reference

and was in mm not inches
but still shows 726 x 16 x 30

still no note of inside or outside
but we will see when it gets here :)

Those numbers are mm...it is slightly different not by much though. Let us know how it goes when you install that belt.

well, the one i got was a bit too short, or a bit too wide
one or the other would have been ok, but both made it no good
it fit, and ran, right up until you put a load on it
to snug to get any movment in it
aw well, now to find one closer to the other size !
