Honda Hobbit, PA 50

Post by fairlead »

Greetings all. My riding buddy has broken rings on his 79 PA 50 Moped from a wrist pin clip coming loose. I have searched cheapcycle, treatland, and ebay, and am having a bugger of a time finding anything for this. 2 yr ago he put on a 60cc jug and piston, and I can't find that anymore either. Can anyone hook me up with a link? Also, should he have changed his carb jet for the bigger displacement, as he complains of it cutting out at top speed. Perhaps it is running too lean.

Regarding up-jetting, YES the jet should be increased when installing larger bores.
Rings ?...with the larger bore, the rings will also need to be the correct size for the bore.
So many PA50's still running the road when looking at moped rallies...there must be some parts availability.
I will ask a friend here with one if he has a lead for you/your buddy.

Treat land has tons of hobbit stuff, and once you get used to the site its really easy to navigate. Just go on the left of the screen select by brand of ped and select Honda out of the list and look at all of the great goodies Benji has to offer :-)
