Flywheel puller size for elite

Post by bfowler »

What size flywheel puller do I need for my elite 00'? I thought it was a 24mm right hand. Ordered this one but it arrived yesterday and it's definitely not the right size. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000HSATRO
What size do I need?

24mm RH thread is correct. IRC thread pitch is 1.0 rather than 1.5 shown in the link.

Well the 24mm definitely doesn't fit. The threads are on the inside of the actual puller rather than the outside so I'm having trouble picturing how it would even work. Can anyone post a link of the correct flywheel puller or one that they have used.

Here's a picture. Even if the thread size is wrong, it should still fit in the actual hole of the flywheel. Notice how the outside is completely smooth I thought there is supposed to be threads on the outside of the flywheel puller?

Unscrew the nut/bolt from the round part.

Did that too. Here's a video so you guys can see what I'm talking about. Am I just being a complete goof or does this 24mm somehow not fit?

Here's the link to the one I use. I love it, I also use it to help when installing the flywheel. :thumbwink: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Magneto-Flywhee ... 6b&vxp=mtr

If anyone can explain the problem and help me figure this out that would be very appreciated. Need to know whether or not to return the flywheel puller.

Don't know about the Motion Pro photo, but bonesv's link shows it all. The 24 x 1.0 RH threads should be external to the puller like the the ebay link shows.

That is a female puller. It is used when the stator is mounted to the side case instead of the crank case.
