Going from kickstart to electric start

If I have a kickstart spree and am wanting to
keep the kickstart mechanism and run the starter
would all I need to do is change the belt cover?
Wasn't sure if there was any extra parts in there.

Kick start is a bonus. Early Sprees had only e-start, later got a kick start in case the battery was dead (most common issue) OR e-start is not working.

Best is to leave your belt cover and kicker lever in place, it's the suspenders for your desired e-start and will one day get you out of a jam.

yeah, most people pay over a hundred dollars just to add kickstart to a spree. I am one of them... Getting stranded sucks.

So what's the answer? Basically i am wanting to sell my spree I'm putting together but keep the kick start assembly for a later project.

Not sure what kind of project it would fit except another spree engine. Not sure what your question is but all spree's have electric start. If yours is not working then you'd need to do some testing to find out why. If your wanting to know what you need in order to take the kick start portion off then you will need a non-kick cover and drive pulley. You'll want to keep your kick start cover, the bendix for the kick start (the one on the cover), and the drive pulley that the bendix hits when you kick it. There are little notches on the pulley that match up with the bendix. The non-kick start sprees have a smooth pulley face.

That makes perfect sense. Thank you very much.
