Help Needed!! [Unknown "Sparky" AF05E - Ed.]

Post by Bossshelby »

Hi I recently bought a Honda engine and don't know what it is. it says afo5e- but was told it was an elite. I also have a few wiring problems. First problem is I have an extra green wire from spree wiring. Last problem is I had a new spree engine it my spree originally and when it was full connected up and you connected the battery the cable, the cable sparked on the battery terminal. I played with the wiring and it still did it. I unplugged the starter wires(thick green and red ones) and it didn't spark. Now I have this new unknown engine and it still does it. Any whelp is greatly appreciated.

Greetings:

Titles like "Scooter Stuff" and "Help" won't get a look from the people who can help you.

It sounds like you've got current when you connect the battery - depending on the magnitude of your spark. Is the ignition switch on? If so the spark is the current jump across the gap, headed for your tail lamp and instrument cluster. Might be normal. If not, something is grounding back to battery and will need to be sorted out. Look for frayed insulation, wire bundles wrapped tightly around corners or compressed between assemblies.
