NEED HELP

Post by reckless504 »

yesterday i was riding my spree behind my friend and his moped and its was at night and he stoped and i rear ended him going like 20 mph. when i rode home it wouldnt go faster then 15mph halfway there then it started picking up. so today i started tinkering and it was bogging. i adjusted the idle screw and changed the spark plug and it still wont go faster then 26-27mph if it even gets to that. what can i do to get back my speed???!!! help!!!!

Have you checked front and rear wheels to see that thay spin freely? No brake drag or bent rim rubbing. Check for loose drive belt. slipping clutch.

i know the wheels spin freely, and if the belt was loose it would slip and you would feel it right? is there anything else it could be? in my past experience i had a topping out issue and changed the voltage reg and that solved it but... i dont know

You have to think of things that could happen from a sudden violent stop. Or tip over. Such should not effect anything internal to the engine. It could knock dirt loose in the fuel tank that could suddenly plug the filter at the outlet or plug one of the small opennings in the carb. Usually jared loose wires would keep it from starting. Loose hoses result in a visible leak unless a vacuum tube from carb to fuel pump.
