86 Spree throttle cable

Post by MG Spree »

I need a throttle cable for my 86 Spree. They have been discontinued and it appears nobody has one. What do I do now?

Most every large town has a few guys who part out scooters, they usually advertise on Ebay and Craigslist, they usually advertise in season not winter. There are four guys near my town who specialize in Spree parts. A used cable should be very easy to locate, also you could adapt a cable from another make and model by size, length and end style.
Or you can sell it cheap, I am sure there are plenty of guys who would want it.
1984 Aero 125 57 mph for sale.

Elite 150 64 mph for sale.

Elite 250 77 mph. for sale.

Red Honda Grom, modded to 250cc, 87 mph.

GSXR 1000 168 mph. My new favorite, scooters seems way too slow now.

Thanks for the replies. I purchased a cable advertised as for the 86 Spree, but it didn't have the built in cap. I cut the cap end off the old cable, carefully removed the remnants of the brass end with a dremel and fit it on the end of the older style cable. It looked good, but after installing it, it was too short even with the adjustment all the way in. Back to the drawing board. I did check ebay and craigslist without luck. I'll just keep trying i guess. Has anyone ordered a Spree throttle cable from motion pro?
