Cold blooded 2000 Honda Elite S

My honda elite is pretty cold blooded and occasionally starts hard(not often). Idle changes after being driven- goes from almost stalling low, drive to next corner and its almost high enough to engage the clutch. When I take off after first start it has very little throttle response, smokes for about 5 seconds, then runs normal for the rest of the time. Fuel economy is pretty bad. Carb was fully cleaned 2 weeks ago, what else could it be?

Aftermarket variator and rollers, stiffer shoe springs and derestricted pipe. Ran like this before any mods. How do I check the by starter?

The bystarter is seized. Will have to make a trip to the honda dealer this weekend and get a new one.

Be prepared to shell out major bucks for a bystarter from Honda. Cheap cycle parts says 82$. If you need it quick you are kinda have no choice. But they are about 10$ or 12$ on eBay.
