No i don't have an impact wrench. Bought a tusk clutch removal tool but couldn't get it to work, kept slipping off the teeth of the drive face. It worked to remove the bolt holding the clutch bell but not the bolt to get to the variator. Am I doing something wrong here??? SOOOO Frustrating...

Harbor freight I think it's a filter wrench looks like a vise grip with round area with teeth on the other end. $8.00 I'm on my second one needs to be almost all the way open to clamp. But that's what I use.

Battery impact driver is well worth the money considering how many times you'll end up using it

I use this so I don't have to carry an impact wrench around in my scooter. And I can still adjust anywhere I want.

Greetings:

The part that fell out is commonly called the starter Bendix, and it is held in place by the Belt Cover. The Tusk pulley holder , an oil filter strap wrench, or any means to keep the crank from turning will allow removal of the Drive Face nut.

if you want hold the crank from moving, take out spark plug and fill the cylinder with clothes line, then turn the crank until the piston is held tight against the rope and cylinder head, when done pull the rope out. learned this when removing clutches from snowmobile a long time ago in a land far far away.
