Why is my exhaust making this ping-ping-ping or da-da-da-da sound on deceleration? Pretty sure it has nothing to do with the exhaust itself. At my job lots of people drive scooters to work and NONE of them sound like this. Very curious as to what's causing this.

Sounds like normal two stroke sound to me.
Listen to a two stroke dirt bike, then to a four stroke dirt bike, you will recognize which is which by the similarity to your scooter.
