88 elite e clutch?

Ok my wife has an 88 elite e she let it sit for a year and then decided she wanted to ride it again it will start and run fine on the stand without locking the rear brake but if you hit the brake it stops seems like something is stuck together. any ideas i know about motorcycles and cars but im kinda baffled by this thing is there a place to download a manuel maybe thanks
