Headlight Bulbs

Post by sffalcon »

Greeting: :hi:

I have a 1988 Honda Elite LX 50 AFO5E. The low beam burnt out and i am in need of a replacement. I see in the manual that the bulb is a 12v 25w/25w but it only shows the process of removing the housing. Am i able to just replace the bulb without replacing the housing? If so any recommendations on bulbs. Could use more light!

I've also been playing with the idea of putting in a little LED light....

Advice/ suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

The bulb is soldered into the light. You can heat up the base of the bulb w a torch and break the glass bulb to remove it from the housing, but your on your own to custom fit a new bulb. H1, h3, or h11 seems to work well. I have a h3 3k hid in mine, works awesome. The led headlight bulbs have a large base on the back that prevents them from fitting, but an led tailight bulb should work well.
