Possible to run without battery?

Post by MrJumps »

I wanna run my spree with out an battery, because I do not have an starter and know im giving up my break light and blinkers if it dies. I need the room for an gastank I got. Can I just put tape over the conections or do I attack each other or what. Im not an elctricion, without internet help I would use speaker wire and rig up lights in my house.

Unplug the headlight or it might blink or flash, but other than that should be fine.

Any 12volt battery will work, btw. If you find something small and cheap and arnt using the starter then all you need is somethimg to even out the flow of electrons to keep the headlight from flashin

I've burnt out headlights by removing the battery and running the bike.
Some bikes will be fine, and others will not based on the output of the stator, and how the wiring is designed to use the battery as a resistor or not. I don't know what yours will do... :urban:

I've seen batteries replaced by large value capacitors to soak up extra energy on race and track day bikes.

I have those 3 wires left from the dio swap on my spree, an red with white stripe, a green with black and a yellow striped I think. The green and yellow came from the same plug and the red one is really thick. Can someone linke me a picture to what wires you mate on a spree to af16 swap?

Im gonna run without an battery because i have an gstank that needs the oil tank and battery to be removed. Now for my secound question go up to my last post and anyone have any experiance on af16 swaps to the spree harness. I have 3 left over wires. Main red with white stripe, and the two that are for the starter. I am not running a starter on the af16 though so do I just cap does?
