Aftermarket Carburetor for stock Spree - are there any?
I know this has likely been asked before - I looked through the archives but didn't find anything definitive. Are there any decent aftermarket carburetors out there for a stock Spree? I generally rebuild the stock carbs and end up spending around $100.00 on OEM parts - but now they are even getting hard to find. I don't need any more performance really, I just need something that works. Does anyone have any suggestions, or favorite options?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Ive seen a few people using the polini carb from scooterswapshop.com. You should PM graphite9 on here since he's the man or check out their site yourself. I don't have one myself but read about others that do. Tazland (another member on here) used to have Spree carbs but has been out of stock for quite some time. He told me he will have them back in stock in the coming months if youre in no hurry. Whatever you go with, make sure it will fit your airbox and intake before you buy unless you want to change those as well.

Thanks for the response. I saw some of those carb kits he had on Ebay last year - I waited to order and missed out - been kicking myself ever since. If someone asked me the biggest weakness with these little Honda scooters, I would definitely say carburetors.

With an automatic choke system and non-adjustable pilot, it has us pretty handcuffed on tuning. However, if youre never going to change, modify or upgrade anything then its not too shabby! Im sure Honda chose a carb design with a balance of reliability and production cost....leaning more to side of lower production cost.

For that one, you need the adapter, would be best to just go with

Actually Custom you are correct. That little intake manifold restricts a lot. I remember the first time I put one of 21mm carb kits on. I was stoked. My set up was a 48mm BBK and the 21mm carb kit with no gears. My spree's acceleration was like night and day. It actually felt like I had a variated motor. Thats why I'm curious to the performance of the intake boot adapter G9 sells. Im thinking it would be pretty good with that 19mm on there.

For me, the problem is that I can't find any good stock Honda cores to rebuild - and now I can't find the rebuild parts. I'm looking for something to replace the entire assembly if possible. Increased performance would be a welcomed bonus, but I mainly just need something that works.

Yeah, I talked with him a while back about it, I was thinking of going with the 21, but he said go with the 19.tazland001 wrote:Actually Custom you are correct. Speaking of which....
Saw this in an old forum post, will it for sure work on a Spree?

I saw mention of it, but never a confirmation.

Has anyone tried mounting a Mikuni or an Oko carburetor on a Spree?

That's why I was asking about the intake I linked to. Found this topic on it:Kustomkarma wrote:Has anyone tried mounting a Mikuni or an Oko carburetor on a Spree?

I'd buy one and try it if I could get confirmation first.

I bought this intake off of EBay last fall. It's supposed to fit a Spree but I haven't tried it yet. Not sure which carb will fit on it either.
