Honda Elite Tire Replacement
I recently bought a '94 Honda Elite SA50P and noticed that the rear tire is cracked in a few spots. I looked at the tire info sticker on the bike, but I couldn't find any of the tires online. What would be a good replacement tire for this bike? Thanks.

Re: Honda Elite Tire Replacement
Its just a 2.75x10 scooter/motorcycle tire...theres hundreds of brands to choose from. They can be had at most any local motorsports shop or you can scour the interwebs. Ive seen them range from about $20-$50 depending on quality or speed rating. The two types are TL (tubeless) or TT (tube-type). Yours has a tube. Some people run a 90/90/10 tire but youll have to check if they fit your scoot before you buy.
I need to find some new haters...the ones I have are starting to like me.

Re: Honda Elite Tire Replacement
Your scooter uses 3.00 x 10 tires, and in my opinion your best source is to get new tires from your local Honda Powersports dealer. They can order them for you and you won't have to pay shipping.. price should be about $20 a tire and they will be OEM quality and you won't have any worries about fit, performance or durability.
Print off these two pages and take them to your dealer to save them looking up the part numbers.
You need part # 3 in this drawing:
http://www.hondapartshouse.com/oemparts ... ront-wheel
and you need part #3 in this drawing:
http://www.hondapartshouse.com/oemparts ... rear-wheel
from those drawings, you will see that the same tire is recommended for both the front and rear.

Re: Honda Elite Tire Replacement
I recently picked up a '99 Elite S that got a rear flat. Not sure how the tire drained, but the tube and tire were free of holes so I simply refilled it and it's been fine.
But before I hauled it down to the local air pump, I did some research on aftermarket tires and tubes for 3 x 10 wheels. Amazon has some pretty competitive prices; someone mentioned the S1 above, so here's the listing for that:
Michelin S1 Tire: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005J ... BK3C7LO58P
Michelin Tube: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000W ... BK3C7LO58P
There's also IRC tires and tubes, which are a bit cheaper and Japanese made (so they'll meet or exceed OEM standards):
IRC Tire: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0068 ... C5XRRCX4P2
IRC Tube: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000W ... C5XRRCX4P2
Of course, these are gonna be a bit more expensive than an OEM tire from Honda, but you get what you pay for. Good luck!
