Met/Elite Wheel Swap? What's the Benefit?

So I noticed today that my front wheel rim has a bit of a bend in it and was thinking about getting it fixed. Then I remembered seeing all over this board discussion of swapping Honda Elite wheels for Metropolitan wheels.

Why do folks go this route? What's the benefit, aside from tubeless tires? Or are tubeless tires just a much bigger deal than I realize?

Love the boards btw, never would've gotten this Elite S de-restricted without y'all's help! Next step: Aftermarket exhaust and pulley

Greetings:

The 2.15 Met wheel width makes a 90/90 tire profile look correct and grip properly. It's the width designed for that tire.

It feels alot more stable w wider wheels, even w the stock size tires.

I've got a set of ruckus wheels on mine(10x3 and kinda ugly haha) w a 90/90, and it looks like I might even be able to do a 100/90 or 100/80 on the rear. I gotta 2.75" tire up front and it looks cool but it's a little skinny.
