Does the Met stem need to be modified to go into an SE50?

Sourced from the SE50 stem. The race on the SE50 stem was a * to get off but with heat and a chisel it finally broke loose. The race on the met stem was removed by cutting it off. I think I got the non-loose bearings with the plastic cage from an SA50 parts bike I had laying around.
