86 Honda Aero 50 rear shock options? Now with performance Q

Post by coctailer »

I think the rear shock on my Aero 50 is the same one it left the factory with.

I'm getting some bottoming out and would like to replace it with a newer/stiffer shock.

Got any direction to point me?

This is a bone stock unmodified original scooter.

You think that shock is bad, mine bottoms out when I sit on the bike and when I hit a bump my c2 feels it. Lol get it replaced asap bottoming out can crack the frame. Mallossi makes solid stuff, cost a pretty dolla but its worth the holla.

And as long as I'm loading up a shopping cart, would I benefit by getting a Dr Pulley slider kit?

How do I know what weight to get?

This Aero will stay pretty much all stock, but I don't mind dropping in a couple performance bits to eke out a little more juice

Actually, I think you need to 245mm, I could be wrong though. Just measure from bolt hole to bolt hole and that will tell you what size you need.

For instance, on my Spree, I measured from the center of where the bottom bolt goes, to the center of where the top bolt goes to come up with 245mm

Generally, lighter weight will give you higher revs, heavier weight will give you more torque... this isn't ALWAYS true, but it's an average guideline.

Here are a couple links to other vendors, although they are both in Canada

http://ultrascoot.com/shock-absorber-mo ... 245mm.html

A google search might yield you better results.
