Honda Spree - Rear Suspension/Shock upgrade
I have a 1986 Honda Spree and would like to buy an upgraded rear shock for it since mine bounces a lot. I weigh about 160lbs if that helps. Looking to spend less than $100. What fits the Spree? I think stock is 9.5", I've read somewhere that people have fit 10.5" ones too (240mm-260mm i think?). I'm new to the spree world so links to products would help.

You'll want a 245mm shock.
Best deal on one can be found here: http://scooterswapshop.com/collections/ ... 45mm-shock
I have one on my Spree, holds my 300lb+ frame just fine.

Could I get away with the 265mm shock? Would it provide any benefits over the one you linked with it being gas charged and length adjustable??eclark5483 wrote:You'll want a 245mm shock.

Yeah, the 265mm should also fit as well. As for advantages/disadvantages, yeah, can't help ya. I'm sure one of the other guys would know.
Re: Honda Spree - Rear Suspension/Shock upgrade
If you lift the rear you change the angle of the forks also, making it a little "twitchier". Alotta guys like it like that. You'll probably have a slightly better lean angle also.
