Using 86 wire harness on 85 motor. SPREE
What should i expect when trying to use the full wire harness from an 86 spree to an 85 spree and frame with 86 handle bars?

You should expect plug-n-play. Nothing changed within those years with the harness. It was 87' that the front/rear blinkers moved locations.
I need to find some new haters...the ones I have are starting to like me.

I think it is almost plug and play but I think some of the wire connectors are different, while being in the same location. For example I think the bystarter on an 85 carb will have bullet connectors, while an 86 will have a two pin connector. I think there is at least one other place where a two pin connector is used in place of two bullet connectors. jerz40.. will probably know for sure.

Ok yea i noticed on my other spree that there were bullets for the bystarter.....
Now im wondering since i dont have a key ignition if i can just wire up a off and on switch to turn the scooter on before starting it with the starting button. Is there a way around not having an ignition?

Does the steering stem and handlebars off an 86 fit an 85 frame ?

You probably will want to use the 1986 fuel tank and sending unit. 1984/85 has 2 wires and 1986/87 has 3 wires.
