Re: 87 spree started bogging at take off after belt change
Greetings:
It might not be the belt/transmission. It sounds like the bystarter might not be closing off the enrichener circuit based on the statement: "but only after it's warm and been ridden for say 5-10 mins.". If so it will run very rich, and thus be low on power.

Most of my money is spent on scooterparts. The rest is just wasted.

Re: 87 spree started bogging at take off after belt change
Thanks wheelmen .. so the bystarter is the enricher on the side of the carb? It does smoke a bit when first started.. but clears up after running and the spree does maintain about 33 mph if I slow dow to do a U turn is when I seems to loose all power. Then it will kick in and run great.
Re: 87 spree started bogging at take off after belt change
The power loss is more frequent then running great though. If I can get it up to 5-8 mph it seems to be able to get itself moving.. I'll try replacing bystarter..

Theres a way to test if your bystarter is any good
