Spree wont start

Post by sleeves »

I have a 1987 spree that i was driving for a few month then all of the sudden it just shut off and i
couldn't get it started again. I have spark, compression and gas is getting to the carburetor so
im kinda stumped trying to figure it out. I cleaned the carburetor, gas tank was drained and cleaned
recently, Air filter is in place and box is sealed and muffled was recently cleaned Any ideas would
be appreciated thanks.

Yes, it likely would start,..but then it would continue to run rich considering the bystarter is not closing the enrichment circuit once warmed. Check spark plug, replace, try again.

Check to make sure gas is getting to the spark! Pull plug after a few attempts to start to see if she is wet. If she IS wet, AND you have spark. It should at least cough a bit when turning it over.

Fuel and spark alone cant run a motor. Gotta have a steady diet of air in there.
I need to find some new haters...the ones I have are starting to like me.

If plug is not wet, it could be faulty petcock or crank seal(s)
