Re: Which battery would you buy for a Spree?
Do all of these little Hondas pretty much use the same battery?
Re: Which battery would you buy for a Spree?
The question is a bit broad to accurately answer. By asking about "these little Hondas" Im assuming you refer to Aero, Spree, Elite but maybe you also meant:Kustomkarma wrote:Do all of these little Hondas pretty much use the same battery?

I guess I should have been more specific.
Can the following Honda scooters all use the same battery?

Yes, those all fit 4L-BS batteries. The letters before this XXX4L-BS are just manufacturer letters. YT, YTZ and YTX are used by Yuasa for their powersports line, GT, GTX, GTZ if for used by Power Max and ST, STX, STZ by SigmsTek and so on.Kustomkarma wrote:I guess I should have been more specific.

Well a 150 milli-amp relay can kill a 750 cca car battery to the point of not starting the car in 3 days... I'm sure that miniscule draw wouldn't help a scooter that sits all winter long. I'm in the car audio and electronics industry, and we always used to laugh at the volt gauges that would come on capacitors, amplifiers, even fuse holders sometimes. There kinda useless unless your checking for charge voltage while running.

To put it in perspective: a watch battery, driving same display, can run for 2-3 years. The entire capacity of a watch battery is ~200 mA/hours.benji wrote:Well a 150 milli-amp relay can kill a 750 cca car battery to the point of not starting the car in 3 days... Given that this only works when button pushed... not a big deal. I figure it would save me effort of hunting down my multi-meter, and since same price as regular cheap battery, worth the near-zero price differential.

Re: Which battery would you buy for a Spree?
Like i said, im not making this up, i have x2 in both my elites. They both also have led under glow and i still use electric start every time. One goin on 8 month life span the other is over a year. I drained one installing the leds cuz i left them on to see while installing. I used that display to check if it was fully charged and what voltage it was@, so yes it's handy with no loss of function. These bikes ran all last weekend@ the big spring scoot with Rip_city_spree, G9, gearheart, etc.. They all seen the lights. Lol. So heres to squash the doubts, they WORK!

Re: Which battery would you buy for a Spree?
Not to Hi-jack the topic, but got any pics of the LED's? I'm doing some on my Spree soon, already did my daughter's. Battery seems to be holding up just fine. These are the one's I use for my scoots:

And it s because of all that extra stuff like LED's, gauges, mp3 player, AUX jack. Here's how the LED's turned out on my brat's bike:

Re: Which battery would you buy for a Spree?
They sure do!! SUPER SUPER bright!! The shop lights don't do it justice. And it's all about making sure she is seen. Can't miss the Toadette TaoTao... pink scooter with white polkadots and bright LED's coming your way. Yeah, you'd have to be blind.
Re: Which battery would you buy for a Spree?
a picture with no shop lights, will shows more love for sure. Great job Brother!

Just bought a Chrome Pro off Amazon for my (English) NB50. Battery looks to be good and as it's gel should also last a while. But, the display has stopped working after only a few minutes. In the UK, they are a bit more expensive than standard batteries but I was seduced by the bling factor..
Hopefully Chrome Batteries Inc will sort things out for me. If not, I'll report back.
Re: Which battery would you buy for a Spree?
I got a partial refund from Chrome. Seems that they ask the buyer to pay return postage for warranty claims, I sent some pictures of the display problem and a couple of days later got a reasonable refund. So far as I'm concerned it's still under warranty for the rest of the functionality and they didn't disagree.
