Tiny Oil Feed Line - Source??

Post by burnt_toast »

The line that connects oil pump spigot to carb/manifold barb. Swapping oilpump from 87 se to 93 sr and line is too short.

Got some similar sized vacuum tubing from Vatozone, but its a loose fit and feel hesitant to use vacuum line for oil. At least for anything other than temporary solution..

Anyone have recommendations of where I could find suitable longer oil line, local preferably?
Vatozone recommended Napa, haven't looked there yet.

You can get yellow Tygon tubing (or equivalent) at hobby shops, chainsaw shops and mower section of good hardware stores. Tygon's yellow tube is safe for gasoline/oil.
Sizes: 3/32, 1/8, 5/32 in the link below. OEM oil line is 3.5mm so 1/8" (3.1mm) is a bit smaller and 5/32 (~4mm) won't stay on the fitting w/o a clamp.

Cool. Was trying to stay local for less downtime on this one

Tried:
Autozone... failed
Advance Auto... failed
Lowes (weedeater gas line looked promising, but too small!)... failed
Walmart (fishtank tubing, close size but ultimately not oil worthy)... failed

and then! God said let there be NAPA, and there was NAPA! And all was GOOD

In case anyone else needs to find some:
1/8" Fuel Line Hose - P/N: H-174 $1.49per ft. and 12in is plenty for 89+ S

way to go NAPA :woot:

I've used common clear vinyl line for this hose... available at most hardware stores.

This doesn't work well for gasoline... it will harden... I've not had this problem on oil lines.
