Destroyed crankshaft, pulley side? with Pics

Post by TenRacing »

Hey guys, I've got an SB50P Elite E ... with a BBK, Carb, intake, and MLM sidebleed.

And I believe that I totally F'd this up, and if for nothing more than for your entertainment I post the following...

Couple of weeks ago at the track the starter was acting weird, and the kicker started binding, so I pulled the cover at the track and got the kicker working, decided to pull the cover off yesterday to investigate in depth.

Obviously you can see the crank is pretty jacked, only proves that 35+ years of working on motorcycles doesn't keep you from screwing things up...

I hate to ditch this motor cause the BBK, pipe and carb work great especially for what I use it for...

So the question becomes, find a stock crank for this motor? or do I try to find a long shaft crank for this motor and convert to a CVT, or do I ditch the 'spree' motor and try something else... like an AF16 or AF18

I don't necessarily want to do a different scooter, I like the size of this one for pit bike use at the races.

You can laugh and me and even point, I totally deserve it, but I would really like ideas for finding a stock crank withpulley, or a long crank with variator and such... like from a trashed Pal (SB50) like the unrestricted SB50 sold in Canada.

Or maybe someone has a complete AF16 or AF18 for sale cheap? if that is the case I'd have a cylinder, piston, carb, intake, and pipe for a SB50P for sale.

If you do swap, I might be intersted in that pipe. Keep me in mind if the time comes.

I'm way to new here as well as the entire realm
of scooters to have any leads boss. I'm still fresh enough to constantly forget the kill switch is "off" while starting.
