2001 elite brake light works but no tail light

I need help.
I can't figure out why my brake light works, but my tail light doesn't.
Replaced the bulb.
I just installed the jdm tail light assembly, as shown in the youtube video.
Maybe I did it wrongly, but would the brake light still work?

We don't know what you did when replacing the tailight assembly,
but it is possible to have a functioning brake light and no tailight.
Wiring is the suspect here.
Did you cut and splice ?
Did everything plug in with colors matched ?

Yes I cut and spliced the wires, like shown in the video, have to open it back up to see if wires are matching colors, I'm almost positive that they did match, my blinkers and brake light work but no tail light.

Is the bulb a dual-element brakelight bulb? A standard blinker bulb aint gonna do it!

Wire was disconnected.
