Carb problems

Post by Firebug560 »

I have been working on small motors for years and this one has me stumped. This is for a 87 spree. When I put the throttle slide in the carb it seats fine. When I twist the throttle the throttle slide twists inside the carb which makes it not seat right. Took the carb off my other 87 and put it together and worked fine. Put the car in question on the other bike and it did the same thing. Has anyone ever had this happen? Is there a fix?

It must have sheared off the nub inside the slide bore that keeps it aligned.
I guess we should establish that itÔÇÖs an oem carburetor we are talking about?

Yes its OEM. Now that I look at it it is smooth on the inside. Can this be fixed? Or ir am I replacing the carb. Hard to find an OEM carb. Any suggestions on an aftermarket carb.

Ok the tab slid out. I was able to tap it back in and it works just fine.
