Ran great the first two days of riding. Then today it randomly quit while riding and now it won't start. What should I look at first? Clean the carb? Check the fuel petcock?

Hmmmm, you got lots of possibilities! Check the vacuum line for cracks. Does it have oil flowing from the oil pump to the carb? Is there any indication of electrical repairs done by previous owner? Check the fuel filter in the tank (under the petcock). Pull the carb and clean the jets (especially if it ran low on fuel). Check the spark plug. Check air in tires.

Greetings:

A sudden change like that suggests your air filter, which may be 17 years old, has crumbled and released a fragment of foam to lodge in the reed valves. This exact thing happened to Flash 3.

Check this first.

Thanks for the reply. I first took off the underseat storage cover and noticed right away that I could see the top of the spark plug. Somehow the coil fell off of it. I put it back onto the spark plug and it started right away with electric start.

Greetings:

Glad you spotted that. So now the question is Why the plug wire came loose.
