Engine flooding out

Post by Aidanmelad »

I bought this scooter at auction, been sitting for about 20 years, rebuilt the carb, flushed the tank, but now there is fuel filling the cylinder, I am guessing the vacuum petcock is done. Got fuel coming out of every vacuum line, plus cylinder is soaked. Anyone else change these out before, or modify to a standard petcock?...how about availability of the part, would rather keep it stock...Thanks

Presumably some model year of some sort of Honda?

Wow, can't believe I did that..lol..I have a 1986 Elite 50. I just ordered a petcock off Evilbay, hopefully this should do the trick.

CAREFUL when screwing the fee-bay petcock onto your tank. Most of the time, the threads on the replacement do not match those on the tank bung. Usually too course. If you force it, youÔÇÖll jack up your tank threads and then youÔÇÖll use plenty of foul language.....

The wrong threads on a petcock is like a fart...if you have to force it, it will turn to shlt

If your scooter is a 1986 then it's not an Elite. Maybe an Aero 50? The earliest Elite 50's were 1987.
