Honda Spree and Elite 50 Forums

Hey y’all, short time lurker first time poster. I bought an ‘87 Spree on a whim a few months ago and then a 2001 Elite a few weeks later, and now I’m hooked. I love these scooters.

I really appreciate all of the help I’ve received from reading this forum and have a quick question that might not be anything at all: sometimes when shutting off the Elite I can hear a ringing noise, much like when a circular saw blade stops. Any idea what it is? My only concern is that something is slightly bent, but maybe this is a common sound on these machines.

What you are hearing is VERy Likely only the normal ring-a-ding from the centrifugal clutch as it slows in rpm and the clutch shoes are making light contact with the "clutch bell"...mm...no worries.
