Honda Spree and Elite 50 Forums

I recently brought a 86 Elite SB50P back from the dead. Runs great until about 23-25 mph under full throttle, it seems like it has a rev limiter. Pulls fine wide open until then. When it starts to miss fire, if I let off the throttle a little bit it clears up. New coil and plug. Do these have a rev limiter. Thanks in advance for any help. Bill

Sounds like carb is probably clogged, possible junk in the fuel line as well. I'm guessing either fuel isn't getting through the jet, or the bowl isn't filling fast enough. Check for vacuum leaks on petcock line too. Actually, replace both fuel and vacuum lines if you haven't done so already. Preferably clear on the fuel line so you can see visually if it's getting gas.
