1993 Honda Elite 50cc Carburetor Screws Reset

Post by vsxraixen »

What is the best method to "reset" the air mixture and throttle stop screws of a 1993 Honda Elite 50cc carburetor? I took it apart and cleaned it thoroughly. When I put it back together, I realized I did not document the number of turns of each screw. A rookie mistake!

A thing to note though: the reason I took the carburetor apart is because the scooter was idling fine and could go up to ~10 MPH until it just suddenly dies. It just loses power and die.

So the main question here is: what is the best way to reset the screws on the carburetor?

Greetings:

There is a step-by-step in the Service Manual, but I just set the idle mixture to 1.5 turns out from lightly seated and screw in the throttle stop until it begins to lift the slide a little and fire it up. Idle speed is adjusted to 1800 once running, then twiddle with the mixture screw until highest idle is achieved.

Most of my money is spent on scooterparts. The rest is just wasted.
