Carb replacement issues for spree and aero

Post by turbowrenchhead »

Hello, I picked up two machines and they both need a carburetor. The choke assemblies are missing from the orginal oem ones and the both have 35mm wide mounting flanges. The one is a 1986 Honda Spree NQ50. The second is a 1983 Honda Aero 50. I have tried ordering carbs off of ebay and they were both right hand choke and they wouldn't fit. Then I tried two left hand choke and the mounting flange was 48mm. I hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

Replacement bystarters can be had on Ebay. Ive bought them before with good results. Just have to pick the right one.

I see clones on eBay using 'nq50 bystarter' as the search criteria. The thread mount 83-84 Aero Bystarter may be difficult to find. Always worth posting a request in For Sale/Wanted at this site

-- Rebuild kits
Honda never offered an all in one rebuild kit. But soft parts for your carbs remain available from a Honda dealer and eBay. For soft parts, a gasket kit and the float needle are offered as separate items.

1) Gasket kit -- 16010-GE8-315 - should cover both your Spree and early Aero 50.
2) Float needle is sold alone -- 16155-883-005
I see your models in the used on list, which is too long to list here. Double check all pn's at a Honda parts fiche site.
