hello all, how would bench test a spree starter? Mine is a 1985 and I have 2 starters that don't seem to work. My relay clicks but starter won't work, can they be rebuilt?
Thanks

Re: how to test a spree starter
Greetings:
Get a good (NOT your current Spree battery) 12-volt source. Use crimp-on connectors to secure your starter's "Hot" wire to the + (Red) battery terminal. Then just touch the starter housing to the battery's negative terminal and it will start the starter motor spinning. (Or not...) Make sure you have a good hold on it, it will "jump". Just a touch will tell you if it spins or not.
