I have just about had enough of s*** with this bloody project. Scooter gods hear my cry.
I have spent so much time & $ on this project. 87 NH125 Lead or Aero.
It came as a wreak & I have fully restored it (first time doing this thing).
It originally just needed a top end so eventually sourced a compatible O.S piston from 80s a suzuki sport thing & had the cylinder rebored.
Repainted everything & cleaned it.
Problem now is it turned out threads on the crank were buggered so painfully sourced a new one & while in the case replaced all bearings & seals. Now it no longer revs past 4-5K & is massively low on power. I have been up & down in jetting with the needle & main jet. It idles fine. Tried a carb that was working fine before & it is the same.
My thoughts are:
1) the timing is * - I cleaned out the stator which has the spark generator on & it turns out the workshop manual says not to remove anything from this assembly.
2) The cases are not mated - cannot find any leaks.
3) carbs are bad - but at least one worked fine before.
