had some trouble with my 89 elite gettin up hills and getting off the mark, after taking it to a mechanic, he said there was no compression.he got a piston kit (one ring was broken), replaced a scored bore and cleaned out the port, took off the kickstarter which he said was part of the problem, and although he didnt tell me, im pretty sure he richened the mixture. now after all that it is better, but not drastic. he says i need to de carb the exhaust which im happy to do, but seriously not much low end power. When taking off at traffic lights cars are passing me which is of course dangerous... I dunno as a rule i dont trust mechanics but is my elite just past it or what??
