ive got a stock 86 spree and it tops out around 30 ive read on another forum theres a screw in the transmission you can take out and gain up to 10 mph is this true or does anyone else have any suggestions ? other than cleaning out my exaust
sure,on the carb, there are 2 bolts. remove them. what the carb is bolted to is the intake(aluminum side). after removing the carb there will be 2 more bolts on the intake, remove them.the intake should come off.look inside the intake on the side the carb was bolted on to and you will see a restriction.file it out with a small file or a dremel tool.(after its finished there should be a clear even path into the engine). clean out shavings and bolt back up again making sure all gaskets and vacume lines are where they were.
IGNORE the one with the brass fitting in it.you dont need to do this.
PS. when filing be careful not to file through the side of the intake.(this is why a file and not a dremel is recommended unless you are confident you can use a dremel skillfully.

I got a new exaust pipe for it but it barely wont fit on, which was a waste and im stuck trying to get the second screw on the inside of the carb, i dont have a tool to reach it ....
What EXACTLY is the problem with the carb? What screw? Did you get the pipe for the right year? All screws (after the carb is off) can be tken off with any normal screw driver.
