86 spree idles then dies on acceleration

Post by tlcbob »

Ive cleaned the carb several times. I got it to idle. then when i give it throtle it dies. also, when i got it the gas tank was rusty...i used CLR to clean it out....and also put in a universal fuel filter with glass after the petcock to see what was coming out of the tank. Any ideas??

Prostreet,

Can you reword the solution you proposed so it is grammatically correct. I have the same symptoms but it is close to difficult to follow what you are saying.

Thanks

He's saying your idle jet's plugged. You can try removing it, but most will just clean it in place. If you can see light through it it's clean.

I think that there's something going on with your clean air duct/air filter.
