Motocross sound ????

Post by vermi »

Hi,
I just start to rebuilt my second Honda Spree 1985.
I receive my oversize cylinder, new piston, rings and gaskets to built my motor. Everyting is fine, the motor run good now, but i have the same sound of a 2 strokes motocross???
I put the gasket on the exhaust but i have the same sound if i didn't put the exhaust gasket!
My exhaust is ok, no hole i just need to repeint.
I use the old gasket because it look good.
I check the head gasket , everything is ok...

Help me!!!

Thank's!

Alain

Just curious, what size piston cylinder did you use and where did you get it?

its cast so u will need a tig to weld it.i dont see why the * they took that out. i wouldnt worry about it unless u want it real quiet.

as for happyval's question, i also have an oversized piston+rings in mine. if u want to know for performance it is not enough to do anything. u want to oversize if the cylander is badly scored. like mine was. u can get them from any honda/ motorcycle dealer or www.powersportpro.com

the cylander has to be bored out for this.

I would tell them to give you a new one. They tried to resurface the deck and ended up cutting the exhaust. Its there machinest fault. They should buy a new one and hone it out for your oversized piston and rings.

To be honest....it is a big deal. I would be all over that dealership.

You were doing a stock oversize, like +.050, and not something wazzo like a 60-70 cc overbore, right?

Why would they have removed material from the bottom of the jug? I though they'd popped through trying to port the exhaust. You can weld this, but it's the machinest's fault. You paid them, they screwed up, they get to fix it. They may reweld it, but I would want them to recheck the bore and dress the exhaust port afterward. They could warp the jug welding it. Not likely, but then they did screw it up once, right?
