keeps on dying on me....

Hi All,

I 've got a '85 Aero that has been running like a champ since I got it two months ago. Yesterday I was heading home and the engine died on me. I had a half tank of gas and wasn't out of oil. I waited about 5 minutes and it started back up (it took a bit of playing around with it to get going). I went another 500 feet and it started to make a knocking noise and it died again. Another 5 min and I was able to get it running again. Up on the kick stand I opened up the throttle for 30 sec and let it come back to idle with no problems. I waited a few minutes before I tried going again. Dies again. Each time the knocking noise seemed to get worse (or it might just be me noticing it more) Now I can't get it to start at all.

I'm planning on pulling it apart this weekend and wanted to get all of your input on what you think it might be. It still turns over just fine and sounds like it it tring to fire up but just isn't quite catching. Thanks in advance.

check the plug. i think that was the problem with mine.
