Ignition Not hooked up

on my Aero 50 the ignition wires are pulled off because the owner lost the key. It runs and drives fine and kickstarts on 1 kick after sitting for a few days. I want to start driving it to work but the lights dont work on it. This is my first scooter so i dont know much about the wiring process but im guessing its because the ignition wires are just hanging there. what do i do? i got no horn lights or electric start, can u help please? If i hook the red and black together shouldnt that make the lights and starter and all work? just a thought.. i havent messed with it yet, im affraid i might short somthing out.

hotwire red to black. u need a batt tho
